Cincinnati-based CR Architecture + Design has appointed a former Gensler architect to establish a new office in Minneapolis.
Patrick Kirchberg, who has 30 years of architectural experience, plans to grow the Minneapolis office to about 10 employees in the first year, CR Architecture President and CEO David Arends said.
“Adding Minneapolis is part of our ongoing strategy to expand our reach and expertise across the country and increase support for our clients in local markets,” Arends said, noting the firm plans to begin hiring “aggressively” in Minneapolis.
Prior to joining Gensler, Kirchberg worked in various architectural roles at Shea Inc., John Ryan Co., and Daniel Louis Goldner & Associates. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Lawrence University and a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The company has leased downtown Minneapolis office space in the AT&T Tower at 901 Marquette Ave. S.
The Minneapolis office will provide the firm’s complete offering of architecture, interior design and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services.
In the past year, CR Architecture has grown to more than 160 total employees and grew 50 percent year-over-year. The firm serves the housing, hospitality, education, government, retail, commercial, higher education and senior living segments.
The 33-year-old firm has three other offices outside of its Ohio headquarters in Dallas, Denver and Seattle.
