CINCINNATI (WKRC) — Residents are invited to attend the Northern Kentucky Community Day at Turfway Park, where they can access free health information and screenings.
The event, scheduled for Thursday, July 31, from noon to 3 p.m., offers a unique opportunity for individuals to learn about their personal health and engage with local healthcare resources.
The event will feature the recording of the Local 12 “What’s Happening in Health” show, with three different teams capturing the day’s activities. The program starts at 12:30 p.m. with a panel on healthcare fraud prevention, featuring representatives from AARP and the Senior Medical Patrol of Northern Kentucky. This session aims to equip attendees with the knowledge to outsmart scammers.
Following this, the “Movement, Medicine, and Momentum” panel will include physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons, and nurse practitioners from Aptiva Health. Dr. Jaideep Chanduri, an orthopedic surgeon at Aptiva, said, “We provide affordable healthcare for patients, we are an alternative to the other groups in town, and under one roof we have patient evaluation, MRI, X-ray, and physical therapy.”
The final panel will address health insurance questions, with a focus on the upcoming open enrollment period. Representatives from Humana will discuss potential changes in the next season. Karen Collins, a past participant, said, “I go to the health fair because I want to stay healthy and I need to talk to my Humana rep to ask questions.”
The event is free and open to the public. Northern Kentucky Community Day is sponsored by TANK, Aptiva Health and Humana.
